This is the 2nd announcement for the 16th biennial International Conference for Plastination (ICP2012) which will be held from the 25th to 27th of July, 2012, at the Beijing International Conference Centre in Beijing, China, in conjunction with a two day pre-conference plastination workshop from the 23rd to 24th of July, 2012, at Beijing Capital Medical University. The ICP 2012 will be hosted jointly by the International Society for Plastination (ISP), the Chinese Society for Anatomical Sciences (CSAS) and Beijing Capital Medical University (CCMU). ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: The 1st of March, 2012, is the deadline to submit your abstract for the ICP2012. The online submission is open. Please follow the instruction and choose Option "Author" to submit your abstract.
The ICP 2012 programme will cover all areas related to (1) plastination and (2) preservation of biological specimens, including their potential application to clinical, functional and digital anatomy. A variety of
categories are available for abstract submission. These include:

*Research
*Technology
*Application
PRE-CONFERENCE HANDS-ON WORKSHOP: The ICP 2012 continues the tradition of the ISP biennial conferences and will have a two day pre-conference hands-on workshop. The detailed workshop program is available on the
website (http://www.csas.org.cn/icp2012/workshop.html). The workshop is designed for (1) those who are novices in the technique of plastination, (2) those who would like to familiarize themselves more with the basic principles of plastination and (3) those who would like to receive close direction in the implementation of these principles and establish a laboratory of Plastination. The focus of this workshop will be the Epoxy sheet plastination technology. The attached image (b) demonstrates the features of the epoxy plastinated sheet when compared with other techniques, e.g. Silicone section and CT. Because of the limited availability, the reservation of the workshop will be confirmed on a first come first serve basis.
